Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome
This syndrome occurs when the nerve running behind your anklebone, within the tarsal tunnel, is pinched by inflamed tissue, a swollen blood vessel, or a tumor. You may feel burning or stabbing pains in your heel. These symptoms may also shoot into the front of your foot or up the leg.
